Are you confused by the complexities and arguments?

I find that the figures published daily in ‘The Guardian’ keep me rooted in the fundamentals in trying to lower my own carbon footprint. (*) "The simplest measure of how the mass burning of fossil fuels is disrupting the stable climate in which human civilisation developed is the number of carbon dioxide molecules in the atmosphere, usually given as parts per million"

At the beginning of the industrial revolution, CO2 was at 280 ppm in the atmosphere. By 1958, when the first measurements were made at Mauna Loa in Hawaii, it had reached 315ppm. It raced past 350ppm in 1986 and 400ppm in 2013. Today (#)  the figure is 416.99 ppm

The level seen as manageable in the long term is 350ppm.

To facilitate and inspire the Melksham Community’s reduction in its carbon footprint, Melksham Town Council’s Environment and Climate Working Group will be writing about a range of climate topics, hoping to generate dialogue and understand the key ways we can all help.
