Informing you on Melksham environment and climate issues [about]
For Melksham Town Football Club - (here) • For Melksham Town Council (here) | Forecast | |
The Melksham Campus project includes a number of energy efficiency approaches that will minimise the carbon footprint of the building: * Air-source heat pumps are being installed to minimise reliance on fossil fuels. * Photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof, these will provide 14% of the centres electricity. * Melksham campus will comply with Part L of Building Regulations 'Conservation of fuel and power: Approved Document L' which ensures new buildings incorporate a range of energy efficiency measures. The U-values of the building are a betterment on regulation levels, meaning better insulation performance. * High efficiency LED lighting will be installed throughout. * Natural ventilation is the primary ventilation mechanism, rather than mechanical. * The air-handling units will also be fitted with heat recovery systems, to reduce the heating and cooling demands of the building. * The building will have intelligent control systems, which ensure heating, cooling and lighting is only utilised when it is needed to ensure optimum energy efficiency. * Three double electric vehicle charge points will be provided. Infrastructure to provide EV charging points to 20% of spaces will future proof the site (approx. additional 40 spaces). Paula Smith Capital Projects Team Assets and Commercial Development |
